THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF STAMFORD, CONNECTICUTMember-at-Large Unit |
On Monday, February 11, our newly formed League of Women Voters of Stamford will be hosting a discussion of a recently completed study by our state delegates on "EMERGING MEDIA AND INTERNET ISSUES: E-Democracy for Connecticut." The presentation will be led by the state's LWVCT VP of Public Issues, Cheryl Dunson, and the Communications VP, Carole Young-Kleinfeld.
After the presentation there will be an open discussion & then a vote regarding member concurrence with the Study Group's conclusions. You will each be receiving a more detail description of the evening and an invitation from Cheryl. The meeting will be held at the Harry Bennett Library on Vine Street, from 6pm until 7:45pm. From 6 - 6:30 you will sign in, get a name tag, socialize a bit, & have some light refreshments. The meeting will follow. This event will be open to the public and, of course, present LWV's , primarily in lower Fairfield County. Please feel free to invite whomever you want. We are honored to have the opportunity to host this important event, not only to present members, but to anyone (men and women) interested in attending.
As a heads up, the discussion, especially the survey & voting, will only be available to paid up LWV members. So, we will have plenty of applications at the door for everyone to fill out, for those who have not yet paid their dues. Cheryl & Carole will be sending out details of the Study shortly to all of lower Fairfield County.
The library would find it helpful to know approximately how many will be attending, so please RSVP to: lwvstamford@gmail.com, if you will be attending, & how many guests you will bring. Also, for any questions please use the same gmail address.
Looking forward to seeing each of you at the event.
