The League’s Web Sites

The Connecticut League’s Web presence began with the League’s 75th Anniversary Appeal for contributions to a technology fund whose goals were to foster communications among Leagues in Connecticut and provide electors with accessible, timely and accurate voting information.

Our two Web Sites are www.lwvct.org for the League of Women Voters of Connecticut, Inc. and the Education Fund's Citizens Service Bureau.

The Citizens Service Bureau

The Citizens Service Bureau, the Education Fund’s Web Site, offers online versions of the League’s Voter Service publications: A Guide to Voter Registration and Election Procedures in Connecticut and its Spanish version, Votando en Connecticut; Directory of Connecticut’s Federal and State Elected Officials; and Connecticut: A Guide to State Government. Projects of the Ed. Fund are highlighted hereincluding Capitol Information and Tours and the Symposium on International Relations.

The Connecticut League’s Web Site

The Connecticut League’s Web Site, www.lwvct.org, is divided into four sections: Voter Information, Members, Action and E-Library.

Voter Information

The Voter Information section gives multiple links to the Citizens Service Bureau’s publications and projects and also includes information about additional Voter Service projects, e.g., internet resources; and Web Site tools which include a search page, and a site map. The search page allows a search of the entire site for particular words or phrases. The sitemap is a complete listing of the pages at www.lwvct.org. A WWW Resources page provides the Voter with links to sites of particular interest for Connecticut voters.

Members

The Members section highlights League Services. Its core is the most recent Council or Convention Workbook. Also, the browser will find the League’s Online Bulletin Board, recent Presidents’ mailings, a Board List, organizational information, and a membership application here.

Action Center

Positions in Brief and Impact on Issues (pdf) are reprinted online in their entirety. Action Alerts, Using the Internet to Make Democracy Work in CT and pages about League studies are also in this section.

E-Library

The E-Library is the location of League publications and forms.

Local League Websites

The Connecticut League offers each local League Web Server space for its own Web Site and page design and file transfer service through the state office.
