Re: Broadwater LNG

Dear Ms Dunson:

Thank you for your kind letter regarding my role in opposition to the Broadwater LNG proposal. Rest assured that I will diligently monitor Broadwater's next moves and will continue to fight any late day attempts by Broadwater to reinvigorate its plans.

I must, in turn, congratulate you and the efforts of the League of Women Voters in keeping the public informed of the issues related to the ill-conceived Broadwater proposal, and about the critical need for a comprehensive energy plan. I applaud your support of environmentally sound policies that reduce energy growth rates, emphasize energy conservation and encourage use of renewable resources. Your leadership in this area is critical in any efforts to defeat projects like Broadwater that promote more growth at the expense of our natural resources:

I look forward to working with you in creating a plan to secure our future energy needs in a manner protective of our unique and limited resources.

Very Truly Yours,

RICHARD BLUMENTHAL
