Note to members: SB 1343 replaces Bill 685
TESTIMONY OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTER S OF CONNECTICUT FOR THE HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE PUBLIC HEARING, MARCH 13, 2007
Support for SB 1343, AAC Concerning Compassionate Care for Victims of Sexual Assault
Members of the League of Women Voters of Connecticut, an organization of more than 2,400 members state-wide, believe that all health care facilities that deliver emergency care in Connecticut should be required to offer emergency contraception as soon as possible after a rape has occurred. Victims of sexual assault deserve our compassion. This bill is consistent with the League of Women Voter’s position to protect the right to make reproductive choices. We urge you to pass this important legislation.
Thank you.
