Connecticut League Gets Reform Award The League of Women Voters of Connecticut has been selected by the League of Women Voters of the United States to receive the competitive 2006 "LWVUS Reform Award." The Award citation recognizes the LWVCT for "leading a comprehensive campaign that resulted in the enactment of significant campaign finance reform in Connecticut." The Connecticut delegation received the award at the just-concluded 47th biennial national LWVUS convention in Minneapolis. The LWVCT advocated passage of the campaign finance reform law, which is the most comprehensive law of its kind in the nation, as part of the League’s work to strengthen democracy through reform efforts such as promoting grassroots advocacy, strengthening ethics laws, and improving voting technology. |
