| The League of Women Voters encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. We are a non-partisan organization. |
| September - General Membership meeting with a speaker covering one of our issues. |
| Fall - Register voters at area supermarkets. |
| October - Organize and moderate a Candidates Forum for local and state
officials representing our towns. |
| January - Legislative Breakfast - at an informal breakfast we interview our State Senators and State House Representatives for their positions on our issues.

| March - We sponsor 5 students each from Cromwell, Portland and Middletown High Schools to attend the Symposium on International Relations (SIR) at the Yale Law School. This past March the topic was "The Future of the World's Children".

| June - Annual Dinner Meeting with one of our State Senators or Representatives as speaker.
|
| July - Register Voters at the Naturalization Ceremony held at the Middletown Courthouse.
