The League of
Women Voters of Greater Middletown and the
American Association of University Women arc
sponsoring a Women’s History Celebration Event
on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Hubbard Room
of the Russell Library in Middletown CT.
The event will
begin at 1:30 p.m. with a brief introduction
featuring a short history of the fight for
women’s suffrage and the League of Women Voters,
followed by presentation of the dynamic film of
the defiant young women who successfully led the
fight for women’s suffrage: “Iron-Jawed Angels.”
Light refreshments will be sensed. There is no
charge for the event. For further information

the Middletown library:
From the South
via 1-91 or Wilbur Cross/Route l5:
At Meriden, take Exit. 18 (Route 66 East).
Follow Route 66 E into Middletown, where it
becomes Washington St. Pass Wesleyan University
campus on the right. Continue briefly to St.
Sebastian’s Church on the right and turn right
immediately onto Broad St. Library is in first
block on the right.
From the North
via 1-91:
Take Exit 22; Route 9 South (left exit lane).
Follow Route 9 into Middletown and take the
Washington St./Route 66 West exit (Exit 15). At
the third light, turn left onto Broad St.
Library is in first block on the right.
Parking:
There is limited parking in front of the library
and metered parking in two municipal lots across
from the Library. Parking is also available in
the Middle Oak Garage past the library to first
stop sign at Court St. Continue through the
intersection to the next stop sign and turn left
onto College St. Garage entrance is first
driveway on the left. When leaving, you will
exit onto Court St., which is one-way going
west. Turn right on Broad St. to return to 66 W
to 1-91. Two free hours garage parking is
available for library patrons. Have your ticket
stamped at the check-out desk when you enter the
library lobby.
