Thirty-Nine Years of SIR: A Retrospective
In 1969, when the League of Women Voters of Connecticut
and YaleUniversitybegan their co-sponsorship of our annual “SIR,” the letters stood for “School
of International Relations.” Today, under the aegis of the LWVCT Education Fund,
the Albert Schweitzer Institute at Quinnipiac University, and the
Yale
Center for International and Area Studies, they stand for “Symposium on
International Relations.” This prestigious collaboration allows us to attract
fine scholars and knowledgeable experts, such as those listed below who donated
their time for the education of our audiences on various topics of international
interest.
