  • September 1: Bridgeport mayoral candidates’ pre-primary debate, co-sponsored with Proyecto Nueva Vida
  • Wednesday, October 19, 7:00 pm, co-sponsored with the Oronoque Men’s Club, debates for candidates for Stratford Town Council districts 8 and 9, and for Board of Education; meet-and-greet for candidates for Zoning Board of Appeals. Oronoque North Community Building.
  • Trumbull Board of Education candidates’ forum on Saturday, October 15, at 9:30 a.m., at Frenchtown Road School, co-sponsored with Trumbull PTA Council
  • Monroe first selectman candidates’ debate at Masuk High School on Thursday, October 20, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Trumbull first selectman candidates’ debate forum at Frenchtown Road School on Thursday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m., co-sponsored with Trumbull PTA Council
  • Trumbull charter revision forum at Frenchtown Road School on Monday, October 24, at 7:00 p.m., co-sponsored with Trumbull PTA Council

LWV Brookfield
  • Candidates’ Open House on November 2nd at 7:00 at the Brookfield Library. All municipal candidates are invited to attend and have an opportunity to be introduced to the community. Moderator: Aaron Boyd, Editor Brookfield Patch. Light refreshments will be served. The Voters’ Guide will be available for distribution that evening.
LWV Canton
  • Candidates’ Night is on Tuesday October 18, 2011, at the Canton High School auditorium from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. Candidates will be from the Board of Selectman, Board of Finance, and Board of Education.

LWV Cheshire/Wallingford
  • Candidates’ forum on the evening of Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Council Cambers of the Cheshire Town Hall.  The forum will have a “cumulative time” format with the participation of candidates of district 1-4 and candidates at large for five seats.  Ellen Andrews, PhD, will be the moderator.  The forum will be taped for local television and various newspapers are invited to report on the event.  Refreshments will be served.

LWV Darien
  • Debate starts at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 25, at Auditorium, Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road, Darien. The schedule will be as follows: 6:00-7:00 p.m. debate for Board of Ed and Board of Finance candidates; 7:00-7:30 p.m. Lobby Reception; 7:30-9:00 p.m. debate for Board of Selectmen and First Selectman candidates.

  • Studio debates with WHC-TV public access for West Hartford Town Council and Board of Education; taped debates shown regularly from October 17 through November 7.
  • Forum for Bloomfield Council; October 18, 7:30 pm; Duncaster Meeting Room, 40 Loeffler Road, Bloomfield.
  • Hartford City Council Candidates Forum, sponsored by The Hartford Votes ~ Hartford Vota Coalition, which includes LWV Greater Hartford: Wednesday, October 5, 2011, 6:00 p.m., Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street, Hartford. Spanish translation will be available. Light refreshments, 5:30 p.m.

LWV Greenwich
  • September 27, Cone Room, Town Hall, 8 pm,: debate for Tax Collector candidates Ted Laudonia, Republican incumbent, and Bill Grad, Democrat. Candidates will respond to questions from the audience.
  • October 5, Town Hall, starting 7 pm; Meeting Room, Board of Selectman candidates David Theis, Republican incumbent and Drew Marzullo, Democratic incumbent; followed by First Selectman candidates Peter Tesei , Republican incumbent and John Blanakley, Democratic Challenger
  • October 7, forum co-sponsored with the PTA Council for Board of Education candidates, Town Hall Meeting Room, 10:15-11:45 a.m.
  • October 27, forum co-sponsored with the PTA Council for Board of Education candidates, Central Middle School Auditorium 7:00-9:00 p.m.

LWV Hamden-North Haven
  • Debate for First Selectman of North Haven by Gary Amato (I), Michael Freda (R), and Walter Spader (D). Taped October 12, the debate will be aired October 14 through November 8 on NHTV in North Haven, Comcast 20, and ATT 99. For the broadcast schedule, visit nhtv.com and click on Program Schedule.   • Hamden Candidates’ Mayoral Debate 2011 will have a focus on open space and sustainability in the town. Tuesday, October 18th, 2011, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.  The candidates are Mayor Scott Jackson(D), Atty. Matthew Corcoran (R) and Mr. Charles Baltayan (I).  Co-sponsored with the Hamden Land Trust Alliance. Questions for the debaters may be submitted to Eileen O'Neill, Eileen@eoecodesign.com.

The event will host candidates in two segments: first for the Town Council and second for the Board of Education. The forum is held at the Windsor Town Hall in the Town Council Chambers.
